For entry alert activation to be detected when the door is opened, you can use an invisible entry beam that breaks when the door is opened, electronic or mechanical door contacts, or infrared motion detectors pointed at the door or down from the ceiling. The type you would use depends on your needs and how the door is mounted and what is around it.
The entry alert is given when the door is opened, the alert signal device can be a wireless receiver and/or remote announcer or chime / buzzer mounted to the door or door frame. These devices work on an entry or exit door (one specific door) opening versus movement or motion in an area which might be too big and cause a false alert or chime.
